ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

Meet the Founder

Jason Russell has spent more than 25 years designing, building, and defending enterprise networks for private businesses and government agencies. His strength is finding the root cause of complicated problems and putting practical, effective solutions in place on schedule and within budget, rather than chasing symptoms or overselling.

His path into managed services did not start in a data center. It started in the Navy. Mr. Russell served more than eight years in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician (Communications) with the Naval Security Group and Naval Network Warfare Command, including tours aboard the USS Denver (LPD-9) and the USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3). His final assignment was as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) at the Naval Information Warfare Activity (NIWA) in Washington, D.C.

After his Navy service, Mr. Russell worked at the National Security Agency as a network security consultant for Computer Sciences Corporation. He then spent four years in Iraq as the Multi-National Division-Baghdad (MND-B) Tactical Biometrics Cell Lead, where he earned more than a dozen awards and letters of recognition from senior military leadership for his work supporting the U.S. military and the Iraqi government.

That background is the reason security sits at the center of everything Harmony MSP does. Mr. Russell spent his early career in environments where a small oversight carried real consequences, and where protecting information was the job, not an afterthought. He brought that same discipline to Central Florida in 2011 and has applied it to small-business IT ever since.

Why It Matters for Your Business

Most small businesses do not have a security background sitting in the owner’s chair, and they should not have to. A dental office needs its patient records protected and its HIPAA obligations handled correctly. A law firm needs client confidentiality treated as non-negotiable. A growing company needs its systems to simply work, without a breach or an outage turning into a crisis.

Harmony MSP was built to be that steady hand. The goal is not to sell fear. It is to give business owners the quiet confidence that their technology is handled, their data is protected, and someone with real credentials is watching the things they cannot watch themselves.

Community and Credentials

Mr. Russell holds multiple IT industry certifications and stays active in the security community. He is a member of the FBI’s InfraGard program, a partnership between the FBI and the private sector focused on protecting critical infrastructure. He also volunteers with Team Rubicon, an organization that unites military veterans with first responders to serve communities before, during, and after disasters.

He lives in Lake Mary with his wife of more than 27 years and their twin sons.
