Meet Jason Russell
Founder & CEO of Harmony MSP — from Navy cryptology and the NSA to accountable IT for Central Florida businesses.

Jason Russell has spent more than 25 years designing, building, and defending enterprise networks for private businesses and government agencies. His strength is finding the root cause of complicated problems and putting practical, effective solutions in place, on schedule and within budget, rather than chasing symptoms or overselling.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1998, starting as a Machinist's Mate before cross-rating into cryptologic communications. Over the next eight years he ran the shipboard network aboard the USS Denver (LPD-9), supervised the Special Intelligence Communications Center aboard the USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3), where he was responsible for encrypted voice and data communications during tactical operations, and served as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) at the Naval Information Warfare Activity (NIWA) in Suitland, Maryland. He held a Top Secret / SCI clearance throughout. He also spent time at Fort Meade as a contractor for Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) providing Tier II security support to National Security Agency (NSA) personnel, investigating network security incidents and recommending courses of action.

From 2007 to 2011 he served as Multi-National Division-Baghdad Lead for the Tactical Biometrics Cell, guiding a team of 40 field support engineers deployed across Iraq. The work covered watch list security, identity verification, and keeping biometric collection systems running in an environment where a gap in process had immediate consequences. He identified and closed one such gap that had allowed individuals flagged as threats to gain access to U.S. bases, with a corrected solution deployed across both the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters inside of 48 hours.
That background is the reason security sits at the center of everything Harmony MSP does. Jason spent his early career in environments where a small oversight carried real consequences, and where protecting information was the job, not an afterthought. He brought that same discipline to Central Florida in 2011 and has applied it to small-business IT ever since.

Today he works directly with owners and practice administrators at small business, medical, dental, and legal offices across the Central Florida region. Security is built into every Harmony MSP agreement rather than sold as an upgrade, because the clients he serves cannot afford to treat it as optional. No jargon, no fear-selling, no activity for its own sake.
Jason lives in Lake Mary with his wife of more than 27 years and their twin sons. Outside of work he is a SCUBA diver, hiker, and cyclist, and he and his wife travel whenever the calendar allows.
A service record, not a sales pitch

Founder & CEO, Harmony MSP
Jason founded Harmony Tech — now Harmony MSP — in Central Florida in 2011. Fifteen years on, the standard hasn't changed: protect each client's business as if the mission depends on it.
Why it matters for your business
Most small businesses don't have a security background sitting in the owner's chair — and they shouldn't have to.
Dental & medical practices
Patient records protected and HIPAA obligations handled correctly — without the practice manager becoming a compliance officer.
Law firms
Client confidentiality treated as non-negotiable — from email to document storage.
CPAs & accounting firms
Client financial data protected and FTC Safeguards obligations handled — on systems that hold up through tax season.
Growing companies
Systems that simply work — so a breach or an outage never turns into a crisis.
Harmony MSP was built to be that steady hand. The goal isn't to sell fear — it's to give business owners the quiet confidence that their technology is handled, their data is protected, and someone with real credentials is watching the things they can't watch themselves.
